My name is Noah Avila, and I am currently organizing MetroHacks III – a 24-hour high school coding event. It’s free and open to all high school aged students interested in technology, regardless of experience.
It will be held at the Harvard College Student Organization Center at Hilles (SOCH) in Cambridge, MA, on May 19-20 and is an opportunity for students to code, collaborate, and create! There will be speakers, free food and swag, workshops, games, prizes, etc. Applications are now open for all high schoolers ages 13-18 at https://2018.metrohacks.org/register.
New England high school students will have the chance to learn 3D printing, construct virtual realities, design artificial intelligence-driven social media platforms, experiment with their own projects, and learn from leading professionals in the tech industry. Mentors will be available to help students with projects and explore different areas of computer science. MetroHacks provides opportunities for students to get internships, kick-start their own businesses, network with experts from prominent tech companies, and gain exposure to the computer science community in New England.
Notifying the student and parent body of this event – either through email, newsletter, announcement – is a great way to encourage students to sign up, and would be greatly appreciated. As the event is free, thanks to our wonderful partners and sponsors, there is no charge for students to attend! If you have any questions, please visit www.metrohacks.org or reach me at email@example.com. We sincerely hope to see some Proctor Junior/Senior High School students at out event.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
